Another Wonder Woman doodle. I don’t know what it is, I like red and white on her more than red and yellow.

Wonder Woman redesign.

So it’s not really a skirt, as much as it is fabric she wraps around herself. If you look at Wonder Woman’s original design, she had a skirt and only the tiara was yellow; the rest of the parts traditionally yellow were all white. I know it’s a little too patriotic for some people’s taste, but I think getting rid of the yellow all together works surprisingly well.

Also, original there were no stars on Wonder Woman’s tiara, but they were on her belt, and they were four sided stars. I went back to those.

Oh also I gave her a cape and a shirt that covered up her boobs but still shows off her arms, because come on.

My favorite thing about the Fantastic Four is that they’re a super positive futuristic family of explorers! That’s awesome! The suits are inspired by shows like Star Trek: The Next Generation and the original Lost in Space. Sue’s wearing a Future Foundation variant. I liked it so much I wanted to include it. I figure they could switch off between either.

Originally Thing had a bodysuit like the others minus the sleeves, but whenever I see him wearing something like that he looks like he’d be really uncomfortable. I imagine rock skin doesn’t breath well, so I went with a take on the classic shorts.

Earlier on twitter I was talking about how I felt like there was a good Superman costume somewhere between the two recent movie designs. This is it. Took the blue from Returns and the red and yellow from Steel. Bodysuit, briefs/belt (minus redundant S logo), and cape length are all Returns and the body type, cape material, neckline, logo, and boots are all from Steel.

I’m sure everyone’s got their own ideal combination but this is mine.

Somebody posted looking for design critiques and I took a stab at refining his costume. Figured I’d post it up.

Wanted to inject a lot of japanese tokusatsu into Hank’s suit but still have it match Jan’s. Figured they’d wear similar super-suits. The helmet is really Kamen Rider influenced and the jacket thing is based off those pirate Power Ranger costumes. I’m not that into PR but they look pretty cool. And since Hank’s the leader of this team in the cartoon, I figured he could rock a Captain’s jacket. Also, his black under-suit may or may not be another hero identity…

Anyway, yeah that’s Ant Man. 

Tried to figure out a new approach to Falcon, and then I realized that he’d wear a helmet. And then I realized that hang gliding helmets are the coolest helmets ever, so I modeled it after them. 

You know, I think raising the collar of the cape on that second one makes the design a little stronger. I’m going to post it on its own. 

I wanted to doodle this out really quick to see how it looked. Saw a costume from Alan Davis’ Fantastic Four: The End and really liked it so I did my own version with what I already had. 

So this is me combining a bunch of movies about robots I really like and projecting them all onto Vision. His appearance is a mixture of inspiration from Prime Superman in All Star Superman, Futura the robot from Metropolis, and then I loosely based his face off of Deckard from Blade Runner for kicks. I also imagine him with T-1000 powers, so he can shape-shift his cool gold metal into stuff. So yeah, Vision 2.0 I guess. I wanted to give him ears too but it looked too weird, so I settled for real irises instead. 

Looked up the fashion trends this year because Janet’s a fashion designer. Saw 60s and decided a mod Wasp would look pretty cool. Hope you guys like it, it was a lot of fun to make. 

My Avengers redesign kick continues with Scarlet Witch. Hope you guys like this one, I’m really happy with how it turned out. Tried to make her a little less Ren Faire and a little more Kirby.

Today’s wake-up sketch is Jordan Gibson’s slick redesign of Hawkeye’s costume.

Doc Shaner drew my Hawkeye design! He made it look pretty awesome!

Kept thinking about Hawkeye so I went back and did another doodle over my other one. This time I tried to give him a little more classic midsection with the new helmet. Dropped his 90s ‘crossing’ logo, even though I think it’s pretty sweet. The first one with the helmet is on the left for comparison.
