Realized I’d never really drawn Batman and Superman doing a World’s Finest team-up, so here it is.

The Bat-Man first appeared in Detective Comics #27 seventy-five years ago (March 30th, 1939). [background photo via New York Daily News]
The World’s Finest by Yasmin Liang with colors by me! I was lucky enough to get a birthday commission from Yasmin at this year’s NYCC and when I got it home I threw some colors on it! Thanks again, Yasmin!

So I wanted to draw something Ghibli related tonight, but I ended up drawing these guys instead. Ghibli inspired Batman and Robin. I figured that Miyazaki would probably think the idea of Batman to be a little silly. He’d want to make them look like they were real people in costumes rather than superheroic and tapered. He’d also want it to take place in the 30s or 40s probably, so I looked at the old Batman movie serials for inspiration.
Dynamic Duo 2.0 Guess what? I had a bunch of coffee two hours ago so I stayed up to reink and recolor my Batman doodle so that it’d fit with Robin.
